A word from our chairman

Dear alumni,

As your uncle would say at a family birthday: your student life is the best time of your life! A time in which you meet many different people, go live on your own for the first time and a time during which you get the possibility to develop all sorts of skills and talents. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. To soften the pain a little, the ESV alumni network exists.

I am Eline Meiberg, 21 years old and from Lemelerveld, a small village close to Zwolle. I started my studies in Business Economics at the HBO. After graduating from the first year of this program, I decided to step it up a notch and transfer to the Radboud University. In the meantime I have completed my Bachelor's in Economics and Business Economics and currently I am fully devoted to the ESV.

This year I function as the chairman of the ESV, which means I am the face of the association and I represent the ESV internally and externally. Furthermore, I am responsible for chairing board meetings and general members meetings. Besides this I support the other board members where necessary and I also enact part of the duties of the activities coordinator. Finally, I have a seat in the alumni board, as secretary. Within the alumni board I am devoted to enlarging the alumni network.

The ESV room is fully opened again for all members, as it used to be. The start of this academic year was all about reaching out to first and second year's students. Furthermore, we have organised the Economists' Day, in which students and educational staff could get to know one another in an informal manner. Finally, the Nijmegen Career Event took place in November. These activities were a great success for the XXXIIIrd board! Coming weeks and months the ESV will organise drinks in our new favourite bar, Stretto, and our committees are devoted to organising great activities for our members.

Unfortunately, the alumni drink has not yet been able to take place. I, however, hope to meet you all soon at our prom that will take place May 13!

I hope you all fare well!

On behalf of the XXXIIIrd board,

Eline Meiberg

Chairman of the ESV 2021-2022
