Dear ESV member,
What a tremendously fun year we have had. Despite the many corona uncertainties, we all made sure we could still meet (safely). At the beginning of the year, we had to deal with closing times of 00:00 or even 17:00, but the attendance for activities was still very high. Simply put, after a long time with corona restrictions, everyone felt like making the best out of their student life again.
This year the association had 17 filled committees and organs where everyone did their best to create something beautiful. Think of the study trip which this year had as destination Rome & Florence. With 30 enthusiastic ESV members we enjoyed the art and culture that Rome & Florence have to offer for a week long. In addition, we also went to Bruges and Ghent for a weekend where we discovered Flemish culture, with the number 1 of course being the craft beer that Belgium has to offer. Finally, the prom committee ensured that a lustrum prom could still take place this year. This evening started with a delicious dinner at Stadvilla Sonsbeek and ended with a party until late at night.
The ESV has also been active in sports this year. First, we participated with a team of 25 fanatic runners in the Batavierenrace. After this event had not taken place for a few years, everyone was very much looking forward to it again. We can count ourselves lucky with a 96th place. The ESV also participated in the internal soccer competition of the university again, where a lot of fanatic teams fought for the golden medal.
Finally, we were able to organize a lot of formal activities last year. The highlight for us was the conference that took place in the Goffert stadium. It was an afternoon with interesting speakers who put the economy in a broader perspective. We also visited PwC and Deloitte to learn more about the accountancy profession. Finally, a Golf clinic was organized with the SRA.
This is just a small sample of what was organized in the past year. Activities we can be proud of, and which were simply very pleasant and educational. For this reason, I would like to thank all active members once again for the commitment they have shown within their committees. But of course, also to all the members who visited our formal and informal activities!
