Each study at the Radboud University has the possibility of participation by students. This means students can share their opinions and suggestions about the study of Economics & Business. For any problems or questions you might encounter you can always reach out to the ESV board members, members of the Program Committee, members of the Faculty Student Council or the student assessor.

Timetables, examination regulations, the Study & Resource Centre or the library: most students will have had a grievance about one of these subjects, or perhaps an idea about how things could be organized better (or just differently). But these are not the only issues that the Faculty Student Council (FSC) deals with. For example, the planned move of Nijmegen School of Management will feature regularly on the agenda in the forthcoming period, and the improved website is another hot item. This page provides a brief introduction to the FSC.

The Nijmegen School of Management FSC 2022-2023 consists of the following members:

The Faculty Student Council is made up of elected student representatives, and operates at faculty level in every faculty. Six students sit on the FSC, and they have a mandate to discuss and sometimes make decisions on faculty policy on behalf of all students in the faculty. The FSC is responsible for assessing the Dean’s plans (including those relating to education). The plans are assessed in the best interests of the students. The FSC then discusses these (and other) issues at monthly meetings of the Faculty University Council (FUC), which is made up of a representative of the Dean’s Office, lecturers and non-academic staff. Meetings of the Faculty University Council are open to all interested parties, so why not come along to a meeting? Get in touch for the times and dates, or stay up-to-date via social media.

If you have a grievance, a question or simply want to have your say in day-to-day faculty matters, send an e-mail to the FSC (studentenraad@fm.ru.nl). You should also keep an eye on the messages on Blackboard (community teaching messages), as several information and lunchtime meetings will be organized during the academic year, to which all students are invited. Or like our Facebook page. We cannot provide proper representation without input from students, so your remarks, opinions and advice are more than welcome!

The main task of a student assessor is to represent students within the faculty. A student assessor ensures that the voices of students in the faculty are heard when decisions are made at management level. The assessor must stay in close touch with students in order to keep track of what they consider important and alert them to decisions made by the faculty.

A good working relationship with the Programme Committees (PCs) and Faculty Student Council (FSC) is vital. All three bodies must listen to students and be aware of their concerns. This is the best way to represent their interests. The student assessor meets the Dean of the faculty every week. The assessor may be involved with matters such as the EER, the quality of teaching and study facilities, so student input is vitally important!
